About This Route
This private 4-day, 3-night journey takes you from Marrakech to Fes through the High Atlas Mountains, Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, the Valley of Roses, the Dades Valley, Todra Gorge and the Sahara Desert. It includes a camel experience across the Erg Chebbi dunes, one night in a desert camp, a full day discovering the Merzouga area with a nomad family visit and Khamlia, and a hotel night in Merzouga. The final day continues north through the Ziz Valley, Midelt, Azrou and Ifrane before arrival in Fes. You travel privately at a comfortable pace. Itinerary Day by Day
Marrakech → Ait Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate → Valley of Roses → Dades
Your journey begins with an early departure from Marrakech at around 8:00 AM. We cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, with panoramic views of rugged mountain landscapes, valleys and traditional Berber villages along the way. We continue to Ait Ben Haddou, the famous UNESCO World Heritage site and one of southern Morocco's most impressive fortified villages, where you have time to explore the ksar before lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, the journey continues to Ouarzazate, then through the beautiful Valley of Roses and along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. We continue through the Dades Valley and arrive at your accommodation in the late afternoon.

Dades → Todra Gorge → Erfoud → Merzouga → Sahara Desert Camp
After breakfast, we leave the Dades Valley for the spectacular Todra Gorge, famous for its dramatic canyon walls, with time to enjoy the gorge. We continue through palm groves and desert scenery to Erfoud, a town well known for dates and fossils, and then on to Merzouga and the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes. In the afternoon, your Sahara experience begins with a camel ride across the golden dunes, with the changing colors of the landscape and the sunset, before you arrive at your desert camp. You are welcomed with traditional Moroccan mint tea, followed by dinner, Berber music around the campfire and a memorable night beneath the Sahara sky.

Merzouga → Nomad Visit → Khamlia → Erg Chebbi → Merzouga
Wake up early to enjoy the spectacular sunrise over the Sahara dunes before breakfast. After breakfast, we continue exploring the Merzouga area and the landscape around Erg Chebbi. During the day you visit a local nomad family and learn about their traditional way of life in the desert. We then continue to Khamlia, a village known for its traditional Gnaoua music and local culture, with time to enjoy the unique scenery around Erg Chebbi and the peaceful atmosphere of the Sahara without rushing. In the afternoon, we return to Merzouga, where you can relax after the desert experience.

Merzouga → Ziz Valley → Midelt → Azrou → Ifrane → Fes
After breakfast, we leave Merzouga and begin the journey north toward Fes. The route takes us through the impressive Ziz Valley, with panoramic views over palm groves and oasis landscapes, and on to Midelt in the Middle Atlas Mountains, with a lunch break along the way. From Midelt, the journey continues to Azrou, where we stop in the famous cedar forest and, if conditions allow, see the Barbary macaques. We then continue through the Middle Atlas to Ifrane, known for its distinctive architecture and mountain setting, before completing the journey to Fes. Arrival is expected in the late afternoon or evening.
