Itinerary Day by Day
Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Imilchil – Todra Gorge
Your Morocco Happiness Tours guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Fes and start the journey to Todra Gorge, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains via Ifrane — the Moroccan Switzerland — and Azrou. Stop for a short visit in the Cedar Forest where you may spot the resident Barbary apes. Enjoy lunch in Midelt, then continue through the Middle Atlas passing the small Berber villages of Rich and Imilchil. Your journey ends for the day in the spectacular Todra Gorges, where you will spend the night.
Todra Gorges – Rissani – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) – Camel Trek
After breakfast in this spectacular canyon — with walls more than 160m high and only 20m wide at the narrowest point — continue toward Erfoud, the center of dates and fossils in Morocco. Move on to Merzouga and reach Erg Chebbi, the beautiful sand dunes of the Sahara Desert. Meet your camel guide who will take you across the golden dunes to your desert campsite in time for sunset. At the camp, enjoy refreshing mint tea, a delicious dinner, Berber music around the fire, and a peaceful night in traditional nomadic style under millions of stars.
Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Fes
Wake up early to enjoy the magical light before sunrise over the dunes. Once out of the sand dunes, meet your tour guide again and continue back toward Fes. Travel through the scenic Ziz Valley before reaching Midelt where you stop for lunch. In the late afternoon, arrive back in Fes where your journey ends.
