The Ourika Valley, in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, is only 45 minutes drive south-east of Marrakech. In summer, the valley offers an ideal setting for locals wishing to escape the heat of the red city.
This group day getaway in the Ourika Valley from Marrakech will appeal to all nature lovers and offer you the opportunity to take a short hike to discover small waterfalls, or enjoy a snack in a local coffee shop in the shade of walnut trees, by the river.
After a 30-minute journey through the fertile plains of Haouz, head to the city center of Tnin Ouika to visit the open-air Berber market. The market is held daily, but it is much livelier and lively on Sundays.
Then continue your trip to Setti Fatma. En route, stop by a Berber family and enjoy a glass of mint tea with them before continuing your journey towards the Berber village of Setti Fatma.
Upon arrival, take part in a small guided hike to the waterfalls located upstream of the village (possibility to hire a local guide). Then return to the village for lunch (at your own expense) at one of the local cafes along the river.
