4 Days tour from Marrakesh through merzouga desert to Fez

PROGRAM DETAILS

1 Day 1 : MARRAKECH – TELOUET – AIT BEN HADDOU

You will be picked up in the morning from your accommodation by your Morocco Happiness Tours guide. We will start by travelling through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N Tichka pass (2260m), the highest road pass in Morocco. We will visit the Kasbah of Telouet, which was the seat of Pasha El Glaoui of Marrakech in the early of 20th century. We continue to the UNESCO World Heritage of Ait Ben Haddou, in Ouarzazate province. Ait Ben Haddou is a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco with a well-preserved fortress city that has provided inspiration and filming locations with the biggest studios inviting many international companies to work there. The first night will be spent in a hotel or riad in the area.

2 Day 2 : AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE – DADES GORGES

After breakfast we will continue towards Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Africa. We offer a stop in the Studio Atlas which is the biggest filming studio in Morocco. Afterwards, we’ll drive along “the Road of One Thousand Kasbahs” passing by the Skoura Oasis and the Valley of the Roses (Kelaa M'Gouna), the capital of roses in Morocco. During this drive, we will pass by many beautiful spots to take pictures and/or enjoy the views. Each place has its own magic. Spend the afternoon in Dades, visiting enchanting gorges and canyon viewpoints. The night will be spent in the heart of the Dades Gorge with dinner and breakfast.

3 Day 3 : DADES GORGE – TOUDGHA GORGE – MERZOUGA – ERG CHEBBI DESERT

We will depart after breakfast towards another spectacular canyon; Toudgha Gorge. Its walls are more than 300m high and at their most narrow part 20m apart. From Toudgha Gorge, we will go to Erfoud which is the center of dates and fossils. We will move on to Merzouga, the beautiful sand dunes of the Sahara Desert. In the afternoon, your camel guide awaits you to carry you across the golden dunes of the Moroccan Sahara to your desert campsite, when the sunset crosses the desert landscape. Reach your desert camp at night and enjoy refreshing mint tea and a delicious dinner. Spend your night at a campfire with Berber music under millions of stars in a traditional nomadic style.

4 Day 4 : ERG CHEBBI DESERT – AZROU – FES

You should wake up early and look at the magic lights before the sunrise. Once you are out of the sand dunes, you’ll meet your tour guide again and we’ll continue our tour, heading towards Fes. We start by travelling through the Ziz Valley until we reach Midelt where we will stop for lunch. After lunch we enter the Cedar forest and we’ll see if the inhabitants, the Barbary apes, will offer us a good photoshoot. In late afternoon we will reach Fes where our journey ends.
