An early start crosses the Atlas Mountains before the road drops into the south.
Leave Marrakech early in the morning.
Cross the High Atlas with sweeping views of rugged peaks, valleys and Berber villages.
Stop for refreshments before reaching Ait Ben Haddou.
Visit this UNESCO World Heritage site, one of Morocco's best-preserved fortified villages and a filming location for major international productions.

Continue past Skoura Oasis, through the Tamnalt Hills and their rock formations.

The last day is mostly the road back to Marrakech, with stops in Rissani, Erfoud and the Draa Valley.

Drive through the historic town of Rissani and Erfoud, known as the capital of Moroccan fossils.
Cross the Saghro volcanic mountains, then follow the Draa Valley, Morocco's largest oasis, along the foot of the High Atlas.
